The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, sent a message at the opening of the 11th edition of GoTech World. The message was presented by Cosmin Marinescu, Presidential Advisor - Department of Economic and Social Policies.
"In today's world, digital transformation has become a key priority for more and more nations. We are glad that Romania is also moving, with ambitious steps, towards the digital economy and society. Remarkably, the IT&C industry has registered spectacular dynamics in the last decade, with double-digit growth almost every year, contributing significantly to the technological advance of our economy, essential in attracting investments and diversifying business opportunities. This year's edition of GoTech World is organized, inspired, under the aegis of "here and now", urging immediate action and offering the necessary tools for such action", explained Iohannis”, in the message presented by presidential adviser Cosmin Marinescu.
"We have everything we need to transform this evolution digitally. We have a vision, and good practice models that we have only to adapt to the Romanian space, from Chișinău to Lisbon and back, and financial instruments and the PNRR (The National Recovery and Resilience Plan). The European Commission has imposed this digital transition and is forcing us to modernize through digital transformation. We don't lack anything, but if I had to choose something we lack the most, it's to have courage. We must have courage, including the courage to fail, which is a very valuable one. Without a partnership between the private and public environment, Romania's digital transformation will never succeed”, said Sebastian Burduja – Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digitization.
The opening of the event was also attended by Sabin Sărmaș, the president of the IT & C Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
"I am surprised at how we, as a country, as an industry, are evolving in this field of technology", said Sabin Sărmaș.
More than 80 top companies, known nationally and internationally, present products and services for the first time and exclusively at this edition, which lasts for two days. The official opening of the event took place in the presence of Romanian officials who emphasized the importance of public and private partnerships for a prosperous and digital future.
