The GoTech World app, available on Google Play and the Apple Store, is designed to enhance the experience of participants at GoTech World event. Our app offers a comprehensive suite of features, including access to event agendas, conquests, participant directories, real-time chat, partner information, and more.

To further enrich the participant experience and provide event organizers with innovative tools for engagement, we are introducing a camera-based feature. This functionality allows participants to use their device’s camera to scan QR codes between each other in order to exchange digital business cards. With this feature, event organizers can facilitate seamless networking opportunities, making it easier for participants to connect, share details, and build meaningful professional relationships.

Purpose of Camera Feature

Networking at the event. The camera is used exclusively to scan QR codes between participants, enabling the exchange of digital business cards. This ensures a secure, convenient, and efficient way to connect and foster professional relationships during the event.

Organizers can create events where participants exchange digital business cards by scanning QR codes.

For example, participants can scan each other’s QR codes to instantly share professional details in a secure and paperless way.
This feature encourages seamless networking, helping participants connect more easily while fostering a stronger sense of community at the event.

Gamification

QR code scanning can be used to create challenges and competitions among participants.
For instance, the participant who exchanges the most digital business cards through QR code scans could win a prize, or teams can compete to achieve the highest number of successful connections.
Gamification fosters a fun and engaging environment, enhancing the overall event experience and encouraging interaction among attendees.
Event participants can be grouped into teams such as departments or countries, creating a sense of healthy competition and community building.

User Consent and Privacy

Explicit Consent

Users will be explicitly asked for permission to access the device’s camera. This request will be clearly communicated, and users will have the option to grant or deny access at any time.

Data Privacy
The camera will be used solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes between participants. No photos or video recordings will be captured, stored, or shared without the user’s explicit consent.

Transparency
We will provide clear information on how the camera is used, ensuring transparency and building trust with participants.

Technical Details

Integration
The camera feature will integrate with the event application to enable secure QR code scanning, allowing participants to exchange digital business cards quickly and efficiently.

Minimal Impact
The feature is designed to have minimal impact on device performance and battery life, ensuring a smooth and seamless user experience.

Data Privacy and Security

Personal Data Collection
Personal data is information about an identifiable individual, as defined by applicable law, such as name, email address, and telephone number. When exchanging digital business cards via QR code scanning, only the information explicitly provided by the participant will be shared. No additional personal data will be collected through the camera feature.

GoTech World collects this information exclusively by user input (one individual can register to an event) and with direct consent of the GDPR terms and regulations of the European Union.

In order to access the App, the user must have an active account (email + password combination), thus stating that the information about said user is collected.

Personal Data Deletion
If a user decides to remove all the data collected by GoTech World, the following flow can be followed:

User successfully logs in
User clicks on MyProfile Icon.
User clicks on the “Close Account” button.
User confirms the action.

If the “Close Account” button is pressed, and the action is confirmed, the system will completely purge all information collected for the user, and the account will be removed.

Data Protection Mechanisms

All communications between the systems (Mobile Application, API, Database) are encrypted via SSL Certificates (we use a wildcard certificate from Comodo SSL).

The password that is set by a user is encrypted using bcrypt and a salt. The password is NOT decryptable.
All database backups are encrypted using AES-256 algorithm with privately stored keys.

Communication between Mobile Application and API is accepted (except login & password recovery) only with a JWT Token, with a 1-day expiration date.

We employ strict physical, electronic, and administrative security measures to protect your data from access by unauthorized persons and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, and damage both online and offline. We will retain your data for as long as necessary for the said purpose of the collection, and after that, we will retain your data as long as the law requires.

GoTech World retains personal data in an identifiable format only for the interval that is necessary as identified by the purposes of processing for which data are collected.

Personal and Sensitive User Data Sharing

GoTech World platform will only share Personal User Data with:

The Event Organizer (the user is required to accept these terms in order to continue with registration).
Law Enforcement Agencies (upon request).

Personal and Sensitive User Data Usage

When personal information (e.g. name, e-mail address, work address, phone number,
job title, company, and other contact information) is provided through the Universum Expo SRL events websites or directly by e-mail, you give consent to Universum Expo

SRL for Processing and administering your data to perform all necessary actions to give effect to your request or instructions Retaining a record of incoming and outgoing communications (e.g. email) to process your data as outlined in this Privacy Statement.

Universum Expo SRL may also collect the following information about you:

Information that you provide by filling in forms on our websites;
Name and physical shipping contact and payment addresses;
Email address and telephone numbers;
Credit card, debit card, or bank information;
Date of birth;
